Grand Canyon North Rim - any advice and feedback?
We are staying on the North Rim at the Grand Canyon Lodge for three days in September.
We chose this location as it seems less "developed" and is 1000 feet higher than the south rim.
We love walking and exploring in nature, so chose to be away from the busier areas.
Can anyone advice what to do and see while we are there and what tours may be available?
We will have a hire car.

New Mexico Arizona and California questions

We are travelling in the US in August and September from Australia and have a few questions if anyone can assist.

RTW Trip Solo
I've been considering doing a RTW trip solo. I'm 33 and female. Does anyone have any experience or input?
Also, I'm thinking about 5-6 stopping points. Does anyone know some cheap airfares for this many stops?

Cairo, Egypt (don't know if this is safe though)

I'm planning a once in a life time expereince around the world but find it very daunting and hard to know if I'm making the right choices. My rough plan is to get a one way flight to new york then either grey hound or get trains across to finally reach mexico where from there travel through central america for 2 months by land then a further 6months in south america, I have been to south america before so feel ... A Month rental in california July 2011
Hey! Me and a friend (both 24) are looking to spend 2/3 months traveling in America, and thought a good way to end it would be by renting somewhere for around a month in California. We would like to stay in a location that is good for partying, and have a younger crowd, maybe near a beach etc.. Anybody have any ideas on location and price? I've just started looking at San Diego and Pacific beach.

when traveling i really like taking pics of landscapes because you can not recreate it. each landscape is unique and has its own beauty, not unlike people where in you can direct them what to do. nature is my favorite subject. how bout you?

Transiting the US
I'm transiting the US in a couple of months time on a flight from London to La Paz with a stopover in Miami. I have 9 hours between flights in Miami - is it going to be possible to leave the airport to go and explore the city or would I not be able to?? If you haven't seen any of Andrew Newey's images, make sure you check them out - he has travelled the globe and has taken some amazing shots. They make you want to get up and jet off immediately!

Puerto Escondido Mexico to Cancun Mexico
Hi All,
We are wanting to spend two to three weeks in Puerto Escondido Mexico this December then drive, take a bus or fly to Cancun where we will spend a month or more up and down the Caribbean coast of Mexico. We know the Caribbean coast very well but are checking out PE for the surf.
where is the best place to stay that is reasonable, near or on the beach and close to all the fun stuff?

Round the world trip
My husband and I are planning to take a year off from our jobs and take a round the world trip.
We want to see Asia, Australasia and South America. The rough itinerary we have in our heads is:
London - Bangkok - Singapore - Sydney (with an aim to work/travel internally around Australia for a few months) - Fiji - Hawaii - South America (Peru, Brazil, not sure where else) - London.
